New Leaf Care Ltd

At New Leaf Care, we are keen on providing person-centered care and to deliver this well, we are always looking for ways to improve. Last month, our team attended a Moving and Handling Training session. This training ensures that our team is equipped with the skills they need to assist and handle people safely without injuries. It was great to see the team engaged and excited about learning more to provide the best care possible!

What is moving and handling training?

Moving and handling training is designed to ensure that staff have knowledge of how to safely move, transfer, lift, and position individuals who require assistance so as to reduce their risk of injury or harm. The training also covered topics such as manual handling regulations/guidelines, safe lifting techniques, risk assessment, and working with different types of equipment in various settings.

It’s important for our team in particular to be up-to-date on their moving and handling training due to the physical nature of the work we do. Family members should feel assured knowing their loved ones are being looked after by competent professionals who are equipped with the knowledge necessary for safe practice when it comes to providing care.

At New Leaf Care, we believe that providing quality care means not only caring for our service user’s physical needs but also making sure they feel safe in our hands—literally! That’s why we have made it a priority to attend regular training such as this one. We are looking forward to more training opportunities like this one as we close out 2022!
