This week, members of our management team stepped away from their desks for something a little different and came back better for it.
We had the pleasure of attending the Business Breakfast: Getting Fired Up Instead of Burnt Out at Wigan & Leigh College, organised in partnership with Greater Manchester Colleges and Innovate UK. It was an early start, but the kind that reminds you why you do what you do.
The session brought together local leaders for an honest, energising conversation about leadership, wellbeing, and what it actually takes to build teams that last. Not just teams that hit targets, teams that feel supported, stay motivated, and genuinely thrive in their roles.
That hit close to home for us.
At New Leaf Care, the people who show up for our clients every single day are everything. Our carers, our coordinators, our support staff, they give a lot of themselves. And it’s our job as a management team to make sure they feel heard, valued, and looked after too. You can’t pour from an empty cup, as they say.
So mornings like this one matter. Being reminded that strong leadership isn’t just about strategy — it’s about creating an environment where people feel safe to be human, that’s something we’ll be taking back into how we work every day.
A big thank you to the organisers and speakers for putting together such a thoughtful, grounded session. It was exactly what the room needed.
We’re back, we’re energised, and we’re ready for our teams, and for every person who trusts New Leaf Care to be there for them.
